Growing up in Utah County sure can take a toll. Four albums into their career, The Used are still angry, angry boys. That's a good thing, as being pissed off is what they do best.

"Artwork" wastes no time getting to the point. Opening track "Blood on My Hands" (probably the album's best song) begins with a blistering, Iron Maiden-worthy guitar riff and an awesomely fuzzed out bass line. And singer Bert McCracken's voice sounds great when it's at full throttle.

Unfortunately, the band abruptly tones things down for most of the first half of the record. Though the pleasant-enough ballads dull the pace a bit, the fury eventually returns for standouts "Come Undone," "Meant to Die," and "The Best of Me."

Though the record skews slightly more emo than screamo, there's no shortage of rock.
