In 1893, Dr. Gilbert Hess and businessman J.L. Clark teamed up to market Udder Ointment, invented to soothe dairy cows' chapped udders. Now, Dr. Hess Udder Ointment is a line of human products owned by Salt Lakers Polly Clark Tribe (J.L.'s great grandaughter) and her husband Tyler.
