Zombie/Dog Walk: Two Must-See Shows
Posted 2009-11-05 14:33:34 by Amy Spencer
We mentioned these two acts in our Macabre Melodies issue, but each act deserves special attention. Rob Zombie and Skinny Puppy deliver some post-October evil that guarantee well worth the price of the ticket. Below are videos to give you a taste of what you'll get.

Rob Zombie
Rob Zombie hasn’t let his gritty horror-metal music wane since he started his filmmaking career. He’s been especially busy this year with his movie “Halloween II” which hit theaters in August this year, and solo album “Hellbilly Deluxe 2” which was scheduled to be released this month, but has been pushed back to 2010. Notorious for energetic live shows, you can catch Zombie with his army of the undead delivering the sexy evil tonight at Saltair.
Saturday, Nov. 5 at 7:30 p.m.
Saltair,12408 W. Saltair Dr., Magna
Tickets: $35
Openers: Nekromantix and Captain Clegg & the Night Creatures

Skinny Puppy
Although the legendary industrial act split in 1995 (around this time, fellow puppy Dwayne Goettel passed away from a heroine overdose), Ogre and cEvin Key carried on with solo projects and a myriad of other project. Eventually they reuniting for one show in Germany in 2000 and the pair reformed and continued with theatrical shows, experimenting with sounds and staying at the forefront of the dark music scene.
There are few bands that have a live show as moving as Skinny Pupp’s. It’s more than hearing live music that I love, it’s an experience and I get chills just thinking about it.
Friday, Nov. 6 at 7 p.m.
Club Vegas, 445 S. 400 West
Tickets: $19 (You can buy these sans service charge at City Dogs)
