Album Review: The Fame Monster, Lady GaGa
Posted 2009-12-01 10:11:33 by Spencer Sutherland

The Fame Monster Lady GaGa

For Fans Of » Christina Aguilera, Pink

So what is "The Fame Monster," exactly? It's more than just the deluxe version of "The Fame," but not quite its own album. Whatever it is, it certainly solidifies Ms. GaGa's position as the hottest dance diva in town.

With just eight tracks, it was clearly thrown together to get new GaGa on the shelves in time for Christmas. But the release's brevity actually works in its favor. There's no need for the filler that bogged down "The Fame." And other than one campy ballad ("Speechless"), "The Fame Monster" is a sure-fire dancefloor hit. The first single, "Bad Romance," is already taking over radio, both the auto-tuned "Monster" and "Telephone" (featuring a rapping Beyoncé) will surely be just as big.

There is nothing here that hasn't already been done (or outdone) by Christina, Gwen, or even Britney, but image goes a long way. Just imaging what crazy outfits and uncomfortable dances will accompany these songs is enough to give them extra appeal.
