Every so often, a record comes along that begs to be shared with everyone you know. "When the Devil's Loose," the second release by A.A. (Scott) Bondy, is that record. Stripped down to strummy guitar, subtle bass, and light drums, Bondy's southern twang does all of the heavy lifting. The best moment is the aptly titled "A Slow Parade," where Bondy lulls listeners into a beautiful coma with his gentle verses, '70s rock-inspired chorus, and tremolo guitar. Though it happens very rarely, Bondy is just as comfortable upping the tempo. "I Can See the Pines are Dancing" may even inspire humans to join in on the conifer dance party.
