Cute little 22-year-old Canadian, Lights (born Valerie Poxleitner, not exactly the rockstar-iest of names), makes cute little electro-pop songs in the vein of Owl City. Her debut record is packed with plenty of feel-good tunes that have already topped in the charts in her homeland, America Junior. Though the record is upbeat, it refrains from becoming a dance record. Instead, Lights more often opts for warm and fuzzy ballads. The record is nicely crafted from start to finish and will inspire many a pre-teen girl to pick up a keyboard and start a band.
